Like all people who are marketing anything on the internet, or anywhere else for that matter, I have done and continue to do a lot of research on keywords and the competition for those keywords.

Over the last few years I have used anumber of tools to help with this and I have tried many more.  Like with any evolution of software and techniques some have stood the test of time and some haven’t.  I hate paying for software which doesn’t work particularly when I can’t get the support required to get it to work or get a refund.

Many online progrmmers will give you a little support but not much and many are very reluctant to refund you.  This is despite the claims on their websites. 

So what do I use?  For the last year I have been using Market Samurai which I have found just keeps getting better.  Why do I like it?

Let me start with the support.  I use Linux as my operating system which isn’t a highly popular system compared with Windows.  Market Samurai runs on Adobe Air which is a multi-platform package a bit like Java is and .Net isn’t. I had been using Market Samurai for a while and then I changed the version of Linux I was using.  Unfortunately the version of Market Samurai at that time stopped working on my computer.

I tried lots of things but wasn’t able to get it to work correctly.  I asked for help and the MS people were very fast to get back to me.  It took about 2 weeks and many emails with patched versions of the MS program before it all came back to life again.  Think about that for a moment, I had a problem which was unique to me.  The support people spent considerable time and effort to help me out even adjusting their software to fine tune it for me.

That is support, real support, and the kind of support that is worth hundreds of dollars.

But support like that is no good if the software itself is rubbish.

This isn’t rubbish.  I think it is the best fully integrated marketing tool in my collection and I use it regularly.  It does take a little bit of effort to learn to use it but they give you a 30 day free trial to try it out.  They also provide ongoing instructions on their blog and via video to help you learn how to use it.

Their support isn’t restricted to their help desk, they provide total support in their training and they do answer questions on their blog as well.
