If that doesn’t scream BS at you I don’t know what would. And of course you would be wrong, mostly.
If you put your mind to it I’m sure that you can think of many instances where there have been books published, some of them best-sellers, where the author on the dust cover didn’t write a single word in the book.
Some of these authors are incapable of writing, some can’t even read well. Most of them are extremely well known.
Yup. I’m talking about the celebrity biography. But not only these. Steven Hawkins has recently published a book which I doubt he actually wrote a single word in it but he is credited as the co-author.
There are two sides to the ghost writer scenario. If you are incapable of writing your book even though you have a head full of ideas you can hire a ghost writer to put it into words for you. This is actually more common than you might think.
You can hire a ghost writer from many different places online or your local publisher might be able to point you in the right direction. You can either sit down with your ghost and dictate the story, tell them all the bits yiu want in it and let them flesh it out or you can record it and send them the audio files, tapes or whatever format you have it in.
A good ghost writer will tell the story from your point of view and will be able to make it read like you wrote it.
The other side of the coin is if you have a small lack of imagination but can write like the wind you could become a ghost writer. You need a good grasp of the language of choice and some reasonable academic skills to be able to take a rough draft of some one’s story and put it together.
So there you go, don’t let the lack of writing skill or lack of ideas stop you, you can still make a career out of writing. You can still publish your own book and still make sales.
If you have read this far and the idea of ghost writing interests you but you think you might not be able to write fat enough then this might interest you. I write pretty fast but I think I could write faster so when I found that Thom Lancaster has decided to share some of his writing secrets I bought the package.
You can get the same package here, 12 Minute Articles, it’s way under priced so take advantage while it lasts.
