Do you have this handicap?

I know that I have this handicap.

Realistically I should collect a lot more background information before moving on but research can be boring to watch even while it is fascinating to do.  I have decided not to bore you with any more of that but rest assured that you will need to do some more for your own book.

I know of several budding writers who have researched multiple books but only started a few and finished none.  There is a challenge in researching for too long.  Ultimately the aim is to write the book not research forever.  You have to start and then keep going.

That’s the big challenge for most writers.  They really want to be published authors, they might even want to be a best selling author but they have a handicap.

They are intelligent.

What?  Intelligence is a handicap?  Well yes it is.  Being intelligent you think about your writing and you want to make it worthy.  That is good and you should but firstly you must write it down, all of it.

Writing is a little like firing a missile at a target, once a book is written you can then check if you have hit the target and if not, you correct the book and keep adjusting the ‘guidance’ until you do hit the target.

Actually that is the background philosophy of this whole site and it’s reason for existing.  All of us here want to help you develop your writing skills but we can’t do that until you give us something to help you with.

Remember, there are no results without action.  You cannot become a bestselling author with a lucrative movie deal unless you write the book.
