My recent post about using the Gimp to create 3D book covers for your book and the book I have uploaded here with the screenshots to show you how easy it can be may still seem to be awfully confusing or complex to you.

I do understand that many people don’t think they have a creative bone in their body for that type of creativity as I still feel a bit of a fraud telling you how to do it because I’m not good at it myself.  I have learned how to create these 3d book covers with the Gimp and they are better than I would have normally thought possible for me.

That is why I think that I can tell you how a klutz like me can do it with the insinuation that someone with the same or more talent than me, which shouldn’t be hard, can do much better.

However, for the rest of you there needs to be another solution.  I have tried a number of different programs which claim to create book covers, flat or 3D, and mostly they are pretty poor.

Most of them have very limited templates and even more limited flexibility to enable you to make your book cover at least look unique as opposed to some type of cookie-cutter approach.

I have found two that I can suggest are worth a good look.  They are both paid for products but they both do produce good looking covers and the cost isn’t that great.
