While there are many places which will publish your book for you both online and off-line and many print on demand services there is still no guarantee that you will be able to sell any.

Many budding authors, like you, have tried and failed to make a success of the craft of writing and it usually isn’t their fault.

Most of you can write well, your ideas are good, your plots strong and flow well, the characters are well rounded and believable and the story you tell is engrossing.  Unfortunately none of those things are actually that important to selling well.

I saw a friend who had a superb idea, implemented well, locked in a massive marketing company to sell his product and have it all slam shut on him because his ex wife’s lawyers tried to grab a share of the profits with a legal claim on the marketing company.  They cancelled the agreement leaving my friend $50,000 in debt and 20,000 copies of a product that he could no longer sell or even give away because it had all been branded by the marketing company.

Not his fault but it almost sent him bankrupt.  A greedy and ingnorant lawyer destruyed any chance of him getting that one off the ground ever.  It also cost his ex a significant amount of money as well.
