Mr Bearly is back

In addition, all the internal doorways are also wide, the bathroom is spacey, the toilet is spacey, as are the kitchen, dining room and lounge room.  This place has the feel of genuine space, is decorated in the obligatory seaside motif but very comfortable.

So what’s missing?  Currently there is no broadband connection available.  Now I have spoken with the hosts and explained that this is a major failing and their competitors do have broadband available.  They have promised to rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Fortunately I was able to access broadband at the local Library.  Now there’s a good idea.  The Public Libraries of South Australia have a program where they all have wireless internet access available, free, and all you have to do is ask.  Once you have registered over the counter you then can use the same login details in every other Library for further free access.

Congratulations go to all the district councils for this as they are the ones who fund the libraries and who must be paying for it.

Back to the holiday, the weather was ordinary.  The day we travelled was quite hot and humid Need a speed limit on a busy beach.but that was the best day of the three.  The second day had a heavy sea fog moving in from the west.  On the eastern side of town the day was brilliant as you can see in this photo of one of the crowded beaches.

Yes, that is a 25kph speed limit sign on the beach.  Why?  Looking at the traffic you could be excused for really questioning this but I guess the temptation to really let the car loose on this flat and spacious beach is pretty great.  That’s what makes it extremely dangerous.  Regardless it does look a bit odd.

The next day it rained.  We went to Beachport and Penola to check out a couple of antique stores  and art galleries and it rained almost the whole way to Penola.  It rained a bit on the way back but not too bad.

And then we drove back home.  Holiday over.  Like most holidays it was too short.  We loved it and just might go back to find out if there is now broadband.

Now to write the holiday story.  Look for it in the next couple of days.  Where’s yours?
