Ever wondered why things always seem to get in your way to stop you doing or getting the things that you think you want? Like getting your book written or published?
Hey lizard brain that’s what you do isn’t it. Have a look at Seth Godin’s blog for some other background but the problem is that small voice in the back of your head which says “no-one wants to read any book you write” or “what makes you think you can be published?”
This little voice is your harshest critic and has always been there. Very few people don’t have one, often the people you see without this little critic seem to do everything with such little effort that they totally p*** me off and probably you as well.
Others who seem to exude massive self-confidence are actually over-compensating or have even developed a “I’ll show you” response to their critic.
I have explored this and other aspects of the human brain, as a lay-person, for many many years as I becam fascinated by a fairly common human behaviour.
Have you ever noticed that many of our most successful people come from extremely poor backgrounds? Have you noticed how often a person who was just drifting through life can often become a super-charged individual after a life-threatening accident or illness?
Why is it that sometimes we seem to need such a massive wake-up call before we do the things that we are all capable of?
That is what I have been studying and searching for a way to reliably help people make the switch from drifting to focussed quickly and easily.
In what was a surprise for me I found a way which has links into all religions, including scientology, and many of the psycological schools of thought. It’s as if we have been skating around the edges of this for centuries but not quite hitting the bullseye.
I’ll explore this in the next post so don’t go away.
