Over the Easter weekend I read “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkein.  You may or may not have read this before, I have but a long time ago, and remember that this is the precursor to the Lord of the Rings.

I totally enjoyed the book again but I was also reading it to study how Tolkein wrote it.  The craft of writing is a learned one as I wrote in a previous post titled The Fastest Way to learn to write well is… and that is why I chose to read the book in the first place.

Now for the challenge.

Some where in the book, I don’t remember exactly, I found a couple of grammatical errors.  I failed to note where so I can’t find them now.  They could also have been a type-setters error but they are certainly a proof-readers error to not pick them up.

Here is the challenge, find them and report them here.  You will also have to report the publisher and print run of the copy in which you found them because it is distinctly possible that they don’t appear in every print run.

Yes I will be going back through to search them out but I only have an old copy, your mileage may vary.
